Newsflash...
I was with Fateen yesterday, supposedly helping her with her AdMath (but as it turned out, she's better at it than I am), and I was reading the S'wak Tribune and on the front page I saw a small article:
So I read it loh. And after reading it, I was thinking about the stories I write. For a long time now, I've been wondering if some of my stories are too far-fetched, too unreal, too Hollywood-like. I realise that nowadays, even Hollywood movies aren't so unrealistic.
Scary, wouldn't you think? Could it be possible people are picking up tips from the villians in movies? Or maybe it's just me, eh, ignorant about the everyday crimes until now?
And what people use as weapons nowadays. There's an article about some double murder in Miri:
And the weapons believed to be used? - Bricks and a pestle. Like..what? That's brutal.
There are some very deeply disturbed people in the world.. I think we pretty much know that.
So this guy killed someone because she was acting cold towards him? How many are with me when I say, that’s pretty melo-dramatic?
Of course, there are some stranger crimes.. take this case for instace:
That’s something you don’t hear of often.
How about snatch thieves? We get quite a number of them here, don’t we? In the S’wak Tribune, sometimes there are this little cartoon pictures giving tips on how to handle snatch thieves. So far… the funniest one I’ve come across looks like this:
Ahakz, that’s exaggeration for you.
But since we’re on the topic of snatch thieves… I came across an article about a gutsy waitress:
Okay, so apparently two guys ride by and snatches this waitress’s handbag as she walks to the bank to withdraw money. They manage to get the handbag but look what happens next:
So when this driver stops them, the waitress runs up and starts punching the snatch thieves out (wah, also been watching to many Hollywood movies)
Now that’s what I’m talking about people – teamwork! That’s more of what we need nowadays =)
Okay lah, I’m going to stop rambling about the uglier part of news and move on to the funnier @ weirder part.
Amazing what people can do with surgery…
The things people think up as we venture further into the millennium =P
Okay, physically we may not be the strongest species but chalk one up for the humans =)
This is just unbelievable. Leaving your kids alone at home to eat cereal? To gamble in Las Vegas?

Hmm... that gambling one was pretty weird, since it's like a 10 hour drive from SF to LV. Unless they flew. Which is dumb.
All the weird stuff is on CSI!!
And nobody cares if stuff is too Hollywood-like, or else they'd die of boredom.
