What to say, what to say. So much to say, too much in my head! Okaylah. Let's start from last Friday - the trip to S'pore was pretty hectic.. travelled with my dad and sister (mum was alrady in S'pore) and we took a flight to JB and then a bus to S'pore.. wah... lots of loading and unloading.. immigration, customs, blah blah blah, so ma huan.. but much cheaper than a direct flight to S'pore.. =)
No la, not kiam siap.. Conservative and economical =)
Anyway, there was this one time during the customs inspection.. we were walking with the rest of the people on the bus with our luggage (check ins and all) and the group was pretty fast, all got ahead before us.. but there was this one old lady who was lagging behind. We were unable to help her drag her bag along because we had our hands full and she seemed to be doing okay anyway.. until she reached the escalator. We kept looking back to see if she was alright, and she was but the moment she reached the escalator.. for some reason, she went up but her bag went down =P It got stuck at the foot of the escalator. We were all tied up with our own heavy luggage and were like, a distance up the escalator from her otherwise we would've helped her instantly. Fortunately, a nice young man came and carried her bag up for her ^_^ No worries, she got to S'pore alright.
The first thing I noticed when we passed the Johor Straits were the cars. Singapore citizens don't own cars that are over ten years old =P They're no allowed to I think. So the cars there all look brand new and they're all imported somemore - Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Ford, Volkswagens, brands whose names I don't even know - you name it. So canggih. Of course, to own such nice cars, you need MONEY... Do you know how they get money? Work lah (duh).. They work so hard, man, they never stop working, working is their life, workaholics.. Kiasu.. haha.. you need to work like hell to live in Singapore, definitely not a place of relaxation. But see, since everyone works, no one steals, no one robs, and the security there is tight, so it's a pretty safe place =)
I noticed that people there tend to back in their cars when they park.. like a majority of them.. in our neighbourhood, almost every car is backed in to a parking space... it's so commonly done that the cars behind the one wanting to park always stop a distance away to let him park =P
